Have a Small Living Space? No Problem!

You might not think you have any storage space if you live in a small apartment, but you would be wrong. You have more storage space than you think in your tiny home, even if you already have a living room set that includes a reclining sofa and a coffee table. Here are some places you can put your storage shelves without making your home look like a cluttered mess.

Above Your Sofa

Artwork has always looked great hanging above a living room sofa, but that is also a great place for some shallow bookshelves. Just make sure that your shelves are set high enough so that you don't hit your head every time you go to sit down.

Above a Radiator

If you have a radiator in your home, you obviously cannot use that space for furniture. What you can do is put up some shelves above it. It's unobtrusive enough that your home won't feel cluttered, but you will be glad to have that extra storage space.

Above Your Desk

Smaller bookshelves go great with desks and other office furniture. Not only will you have plenty of room for your books, but any books or office supplies you have will be within reach when you need them.

Above Your TV

Finally, shelves can work very well when they are placed above your TV. This can be especially useful if you don't have space for a full entertainment center since you can put a Blu-Ray player, your movie collection and any game consoles you might own along these shelves without taking up too much space.

As you can see, there are plenty of places to put your shelves even when you have a small living space. You still need to decide what should go on shelves and what should be packed away, but you can at least rest assured in knowing you don't have to live in a cluttered mess. Take a look around your home and find other out-of-the-way places that can serve as storage space.
